Free Early Morning Sadhana Class celebrate Yogi Bhajan's Birthday on Saturday, August 26th!8/23/2017 Once each year, on Yogi Bhajan's birthday, the entire worldwide community of Kundalini Yogis gathers for a simultaneous synchronized chanting of two mantras. One of them, Long Ek Ong Kar, we chant for 2.5 hours (Los Angeles begins at 3:00 am, Chicago at 5:00 am, etc.).
Yogi Bhajan once said that whenever you chant Long Ek Ong Kar for 2.5 hours on his birthday that you would receive the answers to your prayers! What prayers do you need answered? For yourself? For your family? For our nation? For the planet? Bring your prayers to KYL on Saturday morning, August 26th (walk-in's welcomed)! Immerse yourself in the sound current of Long Ek Ong Kar. And, ride the energy of that sound current as it penetrates every cell, every fiber of your being. It is Yogi Bhajan's birthday on Saturday, Aug. 26th. But, it turns out that chanting in the early morning hours is a very special gift from HIM to YOU! Schedule 4:15 am - Japji Sahib 4:35 am - Warm-Ups 4:45 am - Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru (chant) 5:00 am - Long Ek Ong Kar (chant) 7:30 am - Hukam (order of the day!) Doors open: 4:00 am. Doors lock: 4:30 am. (One door on the north side of the Fine Arts Building (FAB) will open at 4 am. You will walk up 5 flights of stairs to KYL. The elevator operator arrives for duty at 7 am!) Sat Nam Everyone,
I hope your week has been inspiring and productive. This week I teach 2 after work classes, co-teach our monthly "Gong & Mantra" night, and teach the after work class on Monday of next week at Kundalini Yoga in the Loop (KYL). Here is the full schedule along with each classes' theme:
Tej Karam Singh (Tom Ford) After work is the perfect time to let go of the days' stress instead of taking it home! Recharge your body and mind while clearing out those nasty stress chemicals in your system. Invest a few minutes of your time to change your brain and your consciousness; it is a huge return on your investment!
Kundalini Yoga, an uplifting blend of spiritual and physical exercises, incorporates movement, dynamic breathing techniques, relaxation using the sound of a paiste gong, meditation, and chanting mantras such as Sat Nam ("Truth is my Identity"). The goal is to build physical vitality, defeat stress, and increase awareness of yourself and the world around you. Kundalini yoga does not twist you into a pretzel. Instead, you move the body to open its' energy centers (chakras), relax the nervous system, normalize the brains' chemistry, and massage the organs. The net effect of every class creates an open flow of energy in the body and better control over the mind. |
